Fukurokuju

Japanese · deity · mythic · deity

The head is the identification: an elongated bald cranium of comic proportions, which in the Chinese iconography it derives from marks a man who has accumulated so much longevity that it has nowhere left to go. He and Jurōjin are so close that some lists replace one with Kichijōten to avoid the duplication, which the census notes.
