The archetypal pagan giant-adversary, a Kalmyk (Oirat) khan of prodigious strength and appetite. He wrestles old Koshoy to a standstill at the Memorial Feast until Manas fells him, and raids Kyrgyz herds alongside Konurbay; he is also the hero of his own related Inner-Asian epic.
