Gill gives her parents as Timatekore ('Nothing-more') and Tamaiti-ngava-ringavari ('the soft-bodied') of the lower Avaiki — cited here, not authored as stubs. The rule that she could not eat with her first-born underlies Rongo's precedence over Tangaroa.
