Tohetika (short form Toho) is a primordial progenitor-god of the Marquesan high pantheon. In the Hiva Oa tradition recorded by Handy, 'Atea and Tāne are brothers, the sons of Toho' — making Tohetika the father of Atea (Light) and Tane. In legendary tradition he is defeated by 'Ono. He is among the great narrative figures listed by Handy (Native Culture p. 247).
E. S. Craighill Handy, The Native Culture in the Marquesas (Bishop Museum Bulletin 9, 1923) — Toho/Tohetika named as father of Atea and Tane, and as defeated by 'Ono (p. 247 narrative register includes Tohetika).
