K'ak' Tiliw Chan Yopaat
Maya · mortal · classic · mortal
Quiriguá is a small site with enormous monuments, and the reason is 738: a client kingdom that killed its overlord and then spent the rest of the century carving the tallest stelae in the Maya world to say so. The pairing with Copán is why both are in this batch — a beheading is only legible if the registry holds both parties, and it held neither.
