The most spectacular reversal in the Maya record. Copán under him produced the finest stone sculpture anyone in Mesoamerica carved, he had installed the king of Quiriguá himself fourteen years earlier, and then his client took him and cut his head off — and carved it on a monument, which is how we know. Copán did not raise a stela for seventeen years afterwards. The name means 'eighteen are the images of K'awiil' and the god in it is in this batch too.
