Haya

Haya was in the registry only as a sentence inside Nisaba's record — 'with Ḫaya as consort' — which is exactly the shape of gap this pass exists to close. He is the god of scribes on the administrative side: an accountant and an archivist, and also, oddly and specifically, a doorkeeper. His temples are Ur III, in the cities whose bureaucratic archives survive in tens of thousands of tablets, and he is married to the goddess who holds both writing and grain. Between them they cover the whole of what a Sumerian scribe actually did.
