Bungai

Bungai is the companion warrior-ancestor of Tambun in the Ngaju origin epic Tetek Tatum, with whom he defended the queen Nyai Undang and her riverine kingdom against invaders. The two heroes are inseparable in tradition and are commemorated together, as the paired name 'Tambun Bungai,' as the ancestral defenders of the Ngaju homeland.
