Odin spends three nights with her and she lets him drink all three vats. The Hávamál, which is Odin's own poem, says in one stanza that he repaid her badly for her good will and in another that he swore an oath on a ring and broke it — which is the closest thing to remorse anywhere in the Norse corpus, expressed by a god about a woman the registry did not hold.
