Iulia Caesaris

Mortal Roman noblewoman; Caesar's only legitimate child by Cornelia Cinna minor. Married Pompey the Great in 59 BCE as the canonical-historical First Triumvirate political-marriage; the marriage was unusually-affectionate by Roman political-marriage standards. Died in childbirth in 54 BCE; per Plutarch Pompey 53 and Caesar 23, her death was the canonical-historical proximate-cause of the dissolution of the personal-bond between Pompey and Caesar — the slide toward civil war was inevitable from this moment forward. Buried in the Campus Martius by special vote of the Roman people — the first woman granted that public-funeral honor in Roman history.
