Hanan

Tagalog · demigod · heroic age · demigod

Half-divine daughter of Bathala by an unnamed mortal woman who died at her birth. Goddess of the morning and of new beginnings in the Tagalog tradition. Worshipped at the first prayer of each day alongside Bathala and Apolaki; especially invoked at life-transitions (birth, adulthood, death, planting, harvest, new annual cycle). Iconographic emblems: the dawning rooster and the morning sun. The youngest of the three Bathala-daughter-demigods per the dominant variant.
