Cumucul is the eldest son of the supreme couple Kadaw La Sambad and Bulon La Mogoaw in T'boli mythology. He is the martial figure among the fourteen divine children, singled out by the gift of a cohort of fire, a sword (tok), and a shield, together with the magical horse Kaunting, which shrinks to mouse-size and can be carried in a box when not ridden. He takes his sister Boi Kabil to wife. His pre-eminence in arms is underscored in the creation cycle when his brother D'wata, the earth-shaper, asks for one of Cumucul's powers and is denied. Cumucul thus personifies fire and warriorhood within the divine family of the seventh heaven.
