Elen Luyddog

Welsh · mortal · roman british · mortal

A woman whose bride-price is ROADS, and who is remembered for a defence policy rather than for a marriage, is a rarer thing in this corpus than any god in it. The roads are still called Sarn Elen. She is also venerated as a saint in Wales, which the alt-name list records; the cult is not written into cultRecords, because the treatment consulted names the sainthood and does not describe an observance.
