Macsen Wledig
Welsh · mortal · roman british · mortal
HE IS THE FIRST RECORD IN THE `roman-british` ERA, which held nothing. He is the historical Magnus Maximus as the Welsh tradition received him; the usurpation of 383, the campaign and the death at Aquileia are not on the record, because the treatment consulted is of the Welsh tale. That is the same boundary the Saint Patrick record in lane 18 draws, and for the same reason.
