Yompor Huar
Yanesha · demigod · Yanesha traditional religion; continuing · Recorded classification
Yompor Huar is the youth whom the sun Yompor Ror raised as his own. Betraying that care, he entered into a clandestine union with Ror's wife Yachor Coc. When Ror, returning up the Cacazu to the valley of Enenas, discovered the deceit, his rage fell upon Coc, whom he dismembered; from her scattered body grew coca. Huar's transgression is the hinge of the myth, the act of ingratitude within the household of the gods that gives the Yanesha one of their most valued plants.
