Agboluaje's death is the same act as Labisi's and Awonbioju's with the form removed: no council, no calabash, no parrot's egg, simply an Alaafin who understood what was coming and did it himself while a message was still in transit. The proximate cause was Gaa attacking a man the king was bound to, which is what a Bashorun does when he wants a king to know the throne has no friends. Elewi-odo is not in the registry and is not written here; nothing was reachable about him beyond his place in this episode.
