Tizoc

Tizoc is the tlatoani the Mexica seem to have got rid of. His campaigns produced almost nothing — his coronation war, which was supposed to supply captives, brought back a famously small number — and he reigned five years and died, with the chroniclers recording a widespread belief that he had been poisoned by nobles who had had enough. The stone he left behind shows him taking fifteen lords captive by the hair, which is a claim rather than a record. It is useful evidence that in this system a king who could not deliver victories was not simply a disappointment; he was a liability.
