Wari
Bagobo · mortal · Bagobo traditional religion; continuing · Recorded classification
Wari is a brother of Lumabat who set out with him toward the sky. Unlike Lumabat, Wari was overcome with longing for the world of the living; gazing back through an opening toward his old home on earth, he could not bear the parting and turned back, remaining bound to the earth while his brother passed on to immortality among the diwata. His story is paired with Lumabat's as the counter-image of the hero who ascends.
