The widow of the Bore is the mother of Yaro and Karoba and mistress of the household of the first, deathless age. So long as she herself went into the forest at the warning cry of the bird kauwari, her people neither stole nor sickened nor died; the catastrophe came only when her daughters went in her place and there met Souw. She is not given a personal name in the recorded versions of the myth.
