Sia

Egyptian · deity · mythic · deity

Sia holds the papyrus roll. He is knowledge as a faculty rather than as a body of facts — the capacity to perceive what is actually there — and the Egyptians put him in the boat with the sun because a god who could not see what was coming would be no safer in the Duat than anyone else. With Hu and with Heka, magic, he forms the working equipment of creation: see it, say it, and the saying has force.
