Artume

Etruscan · deity · archaic · deity

Artume is the Etruscan Artemis, named on mirrors as artumes and aritimi. She is the daughter of Tinia and Letun and the twin of Aplu, so the Etruscans took over the whole family formula along with the name, and she keeps the Greek goddess's character as mistress of the wild and of the night. Like Aplu she is kept as her own record rather than folded into the Greek figure, following this registry's practice for Etruscan counterparts.
