Podalirius

Quartigod younger son of Asclepius by Epione; co-leader with Machaon of the Thessalian Achaean physician-contingent at Troy. Treated Philoctetes's suppurating Lemnian-snake wound at Troy per Apollodorus Epitome 5.8 — the second canonical Asclepiad physician-scene. Settled post-war in Caria where he founded Syrnos, the Carian Asclepiad-cult anchor. Father of Hippolochus and Syrnus.
