Panacea

Greek · quartigod · heroic age · quartigod

Quartigod daughter of Asclepius, personification of universal-cure. Named in the opening invocation of the Hippocratic Oath alongside Apollo, Asclepius, and Hygieia — making her the only specifically-Asclepiad-daughter named in the foundational text of Greek medical professional-ethics. The English word "panacea" descends through Latin from her name.
