Greek personification of panic and battlefield rout, son of Ares and Aphrodite and brother of Deimos and Harmonia. With Deimos he attends and drives the chariot of Ares; Hesiod (Theogony 934) names the pair as those who drive the close ranks of men in chilling war. Depicted with a lion-head on the shield of Agamemnon (Iliad 11.36-37) and on the shield of Heracles.
