Variant detail: Helen took him to Troy when she fled with Paris — making him the only of her Spartan-born children to accompany her into the abduction. Disappears from the narrative before Troy falls; presumed to have died young at Troy. Note: There is a separate Pleisthenes in the Atreid genealogy (sometimes son of Atreus, sometimes father of Agamemnon and Menelaus in the variant tradition that has Atreus raise his grandsons) — those Pleisthenes figures are NOT this person.
