Scion son of Orestes and Hermione, the last king of the house of Atreus to hold Argos, Mycenae and Sparta. His reign ends the Pelopid dominance of the Peloponnese: at the return of the Heraclidae he was defeated and killed, and his Achaean followers migrated to the north coast that thereafter bore the name Achaea.
