Jimmu

The whole point of the preceding blocks is him: the descent from Amaterasu through Ninigi, Hoori and Ugayafukiaezu exists in order to arrive at a man in Yamato with a claim, and the registry held the top of that chain and not the bottom. The 660 BC date is a seventh-century back-calculation — a grand cycle of 1,260 years counted back from a year the compilers cared about — and is recorded as what the chronicles say rather than as when anything happened.
