Kushinada-hime

She spends the fight as an object in somebody's hair, which the Japanese commentators have found worth arguing about for a long time; the readings that make her name a rice-paddy suggest she was a field-spirit before she was a girl, and that the bargain is the ordinary one in which a storm marries a paddy. The registry held her husband and her husband's kill and not her.
