Quartigod eldest son of Yoshiie. Tsushima governor and Dazaifu deputy who turned to predatory coastal raids; banished to Oki 1102 but failed to arrive at exile, reappearing as Izumo rebel-warlord. Killed by Taira no Masamori at Izumo in 1108 — the foundational political-event that brought the Taira clan to court prominence and seeded the late-Heian Minamoto-Taira rivalry that culminated in the Genpei War of 1180-1185.
