Puteri Mahtabul Bahri
Malay · numen · Malay traditional religion; continuing · Recorded classification
Puteri Mahtabul Bahri, 'Moon of the Sea', is the princess of the submarine kingdom of Dika, daughter of its ruler, whom Raja Suran weds during his descent to the ocean floor. Through her the deep-sea and Alexandrian pedigrees are joined, and she becomes ancestress of the line later revealed at Bukit Seguntang and of the Malacca-Johor sovereigns. Her lunar name is paired in the Annals with the solar name of her father's house, marking the union of celestial and oceanic sovereignty at the root of the royal genealogy.
