Radia Mangandiri is the elder of two royal brothers of the kingdom of Agama Niog and the Maranao counterpart of Rama. He wins the princess Tuwan Potre in a contest of suitors, only to lose her when Maharadia Lawana abducts her; with his brother Mangawarna and the monkey-hero he wages the war that recovers her and destroys the demon-king.
