Nuahine, 'the old woman', is the aged woman the Rapa Nui see in the moon — their form of the Polynesian moon-goddess Hina. She belongs to the lunar lore of the island rather than to any genealogy. SOLITARY: a moon-figure named with no attested kin in the Rapa Nui record.
