Mortal-floor (Aeneas-Ascanius-Iulus divine-line annotation through gens-Iulia genealogy) Roman statesman and first emperor (63 BCE-14 CE); officially deified post-mortem by Senate vote on 17 September 14 CE as Divus Augustus — the second Roman individual officially deified. Posthumously adopted by Caesar in March 44 BCE; thereafter Gaius Iulius Caesar Octavianus, claiming the Divi Filius title after Caesar's 42 BCE Senate deification — the canonical-foundational religious-ideological architecture of the Augustan principate. Formed the Second Triumvirate with Antony and Lepidus; defeated Brutus and Cassius at Philippi 42 BCE; defeated Antony and Cleopatra at Actium 31 BCE. The First Settlement of 27 BCE established the canonical-Augustan-principate constitutional architecture; the Senate voted him the cognomen Augustus on 16 January 27 BCE. Patronized the canonical-Augustan literary program (Vergil, Horace, Livy); constructed the Ara Pacis Augustae and Forum Augustum. Died 19 August 14 CE at Nola; last words "acta est fabula, plaudite" — the canonical-Roman dying-actor death-scene.
