Postvorta
Roman · numen · regal · numen
Postvorta takes the breech birth — the child that comes the wrong way round, and the dangerous case. Her name turns backwards as Antevorta's turns forwards, and the pair were also read as knowledge of the past against knowledge of the future. Roman religion is full of this: a risk is analysed into its outcomes, and each outcome is given a name that can be addressed.
