Son of Huangdi and Leizu; father of Zhuanxu (one of the Five Emperors). Less narratively-developed than his father or his son in the Shiji tradition but structurally crucial as the dynastic-continuity link between the Yellow Emperor and the Five Emperors lineage. Married a woman of the Shu Hill (蜀山氏) clan; their son Zhuanxu became the second of the Five Emperors per Shiji canonical-historical framework.
