Menrva

Etruscan · deity · archaic · deity

Etruscan craftswoman-and-warfare goddess, third member of the Etruscan triad with Tinia and Uni. Born from Tinia's head fully armed per the Etruscan reception of the Athena-birth pattern. Her name is the direct etymological source of Latin Minerva — the most-attested case of explicit Etruscan-to-Roman deity-name loan. The institutional translation of the Etruscan triad into the Roman Capitoline triad (Iuppiter-Iuno-Minerva) preserves Menrva's position as the third-and-craftswoman member.
