Polyxena

Greek · scion · trojan war · scion

Scion — youngest daughter of Priam and Hecuba; in post-Homeric legend beloved of Achilles and connected with his death-ambush. After Troy fell she was sacrificed by Neoptolemus on Achilles' tomb to lay the hero's shade, going to her death with a courage that becomes the moral centre of Euripides' Hecuba and Trojan Women.
