In Zuidema's four-quarters reading, the four-Mama / four-Ayar pairing maps the Tahuantinsuyu directional ideology onto the founder generation, with each pair anchoring a quadrant. Cultural ratification primarily through the panaca system inheritance rather than independent cult-site veneration.
