Dardanus
Greek · demigod · pre trojan war · deity
Demigod (deity-by-blood, mortal-tier by office) — son of Zeus by the Pleiad Electra; founder-king and eponymous ancestor of the Dardanians, from whom the whole Trojan royal house descends. Crossed from Samothrace to the Troad, was received by King Teucer, married his daughter Batea, and founded Dardania on Mt. Ida (Iliad 20.215-218 — Aeneas's own recital of the line). Father of Erichthonius. The genealogical root through which divinity propagates down the Dardanid stemma to Aeneas, Hector, and Priam's house.
